The acclaimed Swedish singer is ready for this year’s festival along with spiritual pop hymns from Danish act Hymns From Nineveh and muscular heavy rock from Swedish band Bombus.

Swedish singer Jenny Wilson with the crystal-clear voice is (wo)manning the barricades with her new album Demand the Impossible!

In 2014, she gets the chance to demonstrate to the Roskilde Festival audience that her Scandinavian mixture of R&B, Giorgio Moroder and alternative pop has become much more politically charged and hungry for life than before.

Major Lazer is set to create an unpredictable explosion of genres on Roskilde Festival’s Orange Stage in 2014.

Major Lazer is fronted by US phenomenon Diplo who is constantly pushing genres out of control with his sci-fi-like distortion of dancehall and reggaeton – and just about anything else with a danceable pulse.

His list of collaborators includes prominent names such as M.I.A., Tiësto and MØ.

Now Major Lazer targets the Roskilde Festival audience with a night show on Orange Stage in 2014. Expect to be in for nothing less than a totally unpredictable explosion of genres.

Roskilde Festival’s program director Anders Wahrén says:

It may have been a long courtship, but the love they share with festival friends at Werchter is more intense than ever. It wasn’t until 2006 that Pearl Jam played on Belgian soil for the first time, at a sold out Sportpaleis in Antwerp. And a year later the American band finally played Rock Werchter. Next year they will take to the festival’s main stage for the fourth time. Pearl Jam headline on Saturday 5 July. And they’ll be giving a full show. Pearl Jam are planning just 11 shows in Europe next summer. They’ll play at only 2 festivals – Open’er in Poland and Rock Werchter. It will be a fine reunion.

These days the best marathon shows are given by U2, Bruce Springsteen and Pearl Jam. The UK’s Q magazine recently gave Eddie Vedder & Co. 5 stars for a concert in New York...

Efter metal/hardcore och svenska soloess är det dags för bandsläppsveckans tredje dag: I dag presenterar vi sex rock/indie-akter till Bråvallafestivalen. Det handlar om Kings of Leon, Mando Diao, The Hives, Passenger, Belle & Sebastian och Markus Krunegård.

Som ett av 2000-talets mest produktiva rockband har amerikanska Kings of Leon hunnit släppa sex studioalbum sedan 2003-års debut ”Youth & Young Manhood”. Det Kings of Leon hade byggt upp under bandets tre första skivor exploderade då albumet ”Only by the Night”, med hitsinglarna ”Use Somebody” och”Sex on Fire”, släpptes 2008.

Sedan Kings of Leon tog steget till att bli ett av världens största rockband har de haft en konstant formtopp – 2010 släpptes ”Come Around Sundown” och under hösten kom den senaste skivan ”Mechanical Bull...

Roskildefestivalen donerar 900.000 kronor till organisationer som hjälper socialt utsatta barn och unga. Frälsningsarmén får härmed ett bidrag på 100.000 kronor.

Det är den danska Roskildefestivalen, en 100% non-profit festival, som nu delar ut överskottet från sommarens festival och på det sättet bidrar till att skapa värme i vinterkylan.

Det är 900.000 DKR som delas ut med anledning av julen, men många av de organisationerna som får ta del av pengarna arbetar året runt och inte bara under julen med socialt utsatta.

Ordföranden för Föreningen Roskildefestivalen, Steen Jörgensen, säger:

I går inleddes bandsläppsveckan till Bråvalla med metal/hardcore i form av bland andra Iron Maiden och Bring Me The Horizon. I dag följer vi upp med ett fyrtal i svenska soloess och hälsar Veronica Maggio, Laleh, Melissa Horn samt Daniel Adams-Ray välkomna till festivalen!

Det brukar ofta pratas om hur svårt det är att följa upp en succé. För hur följer man egentligen upp ett album som resulterat i Grammisar, Rockbjörnar och Spotify-rekord, ett album varifrån samtliga elva spår gick in på singellistan och den monumentala förstasingeln ”Jag kommer” sålde platina sju gånger om? För Veronica Maggio verkar det inte vara något problem ­– det är bara att göra ett ännu starkare album.

Efter ett succéartat premiärår för Bråvallafestivalen i Norrköping, den största festivalen som någonsin har arrangerats i Sverige, är det nu dags att blicka framåt mot nästa sommar. Det första klara bandet till Bråvalla 2014 är inga mindre än IRON MAIDEN!

Nästa år ger sig IRON MAIDEN ut på turnén ”Maiden England World Tour” och spelningen på Bråvalla blir den enda som bandet gör i Sverige. Den extremt framgångsrika turnén ”Maiden England World Tour” har tagit sitt namn från den klassiska liveupptagningen från Birmingham 1988 och baseras på hits samt fanfavoriter från 1980-talet, varav vissa kommer bli framförda live för sista gången någonsin.
