Rock n’ wine in Hungary

Feel the hungarian soul of rock- Hegyalja Festival, Hungary

Festival guy goes to Hungary in the end of july, checking the middle-European festival feeling, with real rockmusic, and to taste the best white-wines ever. The city of Tokaj-Hegyalja, -one of the most famous hungarian wine-territories crossed by a river- gives home for the four days party almost from 13 years, since summer of 1999.
In the festival the lead is around the harder styles, as rock and metal bugs, but following the growing interest of trends, and the world-famous hungarian Sziget Festival, they also invite alternative, and well-known legendic non-rock artists from years. In the last time main star was Scooter, before that Motörhead band, both sent us back to the past- anyway… now, they have overcome themselves, surprised the audience with the parents of classical song ‘Forever Young’, as Alphaville, the finnish legend Sonata Arctica, continuing the great lead with the hardcore king Biohazard, and Everlast acustic duo.
On the other hand, this kind of small-festivals are really famous about showing up local bands, and trends. Hegyalja Festival is really good at that, picking up and mixing together the most famous Hungarian rock, metal and alternative geniuses from the past till nowadays. Than, during this four hot, but rainy days, we got the best for our music-soul. In the five stages five different styles were played. Usually big legends as the rebellious Beatrice band, or the true-teller old musicians, Rudán Joe, and Edda Müvek started each evenings, gives the place than to the younger metal and rock n roll bands, Depresszió band, and other punk and metal groups crushed hard, than the great social critical Ganxsta, Belga, and the reagge bands as Copy Con group and Europe-famous Hungarian tribute bands gave the best success than, during the night, fighting with the upper mentioned international classics.
Instead of raining, and some different festival accidents, and drunken people, the feeling was indescribable, pretty fantastic, and unforgettable ever. Let’s go back in the next year, repeat Hungarian rock n roll. Yeah.
