ORPHANED LAND, the pioneers of oriental metal music and warriors of light are in the final process of recording their long awaited new album. This release is the band’s 6th full length and marks another big step forward, it is the logical evolution from the last studio release ’The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR’.

The title of the new album will be ’All Is One’ and it surfaces on June 24th (USA June 25th), 2013! Singer Kobi Farhi explains the material as follows:

”I’ll say it plain and simple – ”All Is One” is ORPHANED LAND’s best album so far, I feel that we took all aspects to a new level – the way we write, arrange, play and produce. Echo & The Bunnymen front man Ian McCulloch has announced the release of the stunning ‘Holy Ghosts’, featuring two discs representing different eras in Mac’s work.

The first is a collection of orchestral re-workings of classic Echo & The Bunnymen and solo tracks, originally recorded during McCulloch’s show at the Union Chapel last year. It will be released on Edsel Records on 22nd April 2013.

Edinburgh based septet Delta Mainline prepare to release their debut full length album ‘Oh! Enlightened’ this May through Rehab Sound Recordings (UK) and Halcyon Records (North America).
Rich with texture and tinged with healthy doses of psychedelia, the record tumbles from skilled atmospheric soundscapes to vibrant bursts of melody. Ghostly reverberations underlie the album as a whole with space age electronica, adhering to previous comparisons made to Spiritualized, Sparklehorse, Spacemen 3 and The Beta Band.

NYNKE comes from Friesland and sings in Frisian, a language with a rich history and a great poetic quality, which is only spoken in the northern part of the Netherlands and is considered by linguists as somewhere halfway between English and Dutch.

For a number of years, Nynke has been passionate about Mediterranean and Latin music, from fado and flamenco to various Latin American traditions and has created her own “Mediterranean-Frisian” style, inspired by these musical forms and sung in her mother tongue. She has recorded three albums – all extremely successful in the Netherlands, resulting in a gold disc, an Edison (Dutch Music Awards) and a literary prize.

Death? Afterworld? Android lovers dying in the streets bleeding green blood? Homeless girls? Dogs stranded here from other planets? What are Sonny & The Sunsets getting at on Antenna to the Afterworld, a fast¬moving record of new wave synths and post punk beats?

The murder of a close friend of the band led Smith to think a lot about death and life after death. Shortly after, a visit to a psychic/medium brought Smith into contact with another friend who had died.

This encounter with the afterworld inspired many of the lyrics on Sonny & the Sunsets’ new record. And what a strangely entertaining odyssey it turned out to be.

David Bronson has released a video for the song watch the Sun (October Reprise), from his album ”Story”

David says:

”The idea was that the graphic, other-worldly look would lend itself to a song about wanting something you don’t have – and the fantasy aspect of concerning oneself with an internal vision that you could almost try to ’will’ into existence. There’s also the connection to the line-drawn, 2-D style imagery of the album artwork, which partially stemmed from the desire to have that kind of narrative otherworldliness that accompanies the comic & graphic novel mediums, both of which I’m a huge fan of.

RIVAL SONS have confirmed a number of European festival appearances for this summer, including the UK’s prestigious Download festival.

The band kicked off a European headlining tour last week, and will return to Europe again in June for Finland’s Kivenlahti Rock festival, Norway’s Bergenfest and Norwegian Wood festivals, and the UK’s Download festival at the legendary Donington Park.

RIVAL SONS are returning to Europe this week for a headlining tour in support of their latest album, HEAD DOWN, and have revealed their hand-picked support bands for the trek.

The tour kicks off on Friday, March 22nd in Bonn, Germany, and wraps up on April 16th in Cambridge, UK. Supporting RIVAL SONS are THE BALCONIES, THE GRAVELTONES, ULYSSES and THE TEMPERANCE MOVEMENT.
