LOS ANGELES, CA: Before her untimely death at the age of 54 on the day after Christmas 2010, Teena Marie, known as the Ivory Queen of Soul or simply Lady Tee as one of the only white artists ever signed to Motown Records, wrote, produced, arranged and sang on 13 albums that have sold 2.5 million copies in the soundscan era. Starting with her 1979, Rick James-produced debut, Wild and Peaceful, Teena Marie’s many soul and R&B hits include “Square Biz,” “Behind the Groove,” “I Need Your Lovin’,” “Fire and Desire,” “Lovergirl” and “Ooo La La La,” a song famously sampled by the Fugees.

Teena Marie was working on her 14th and latest album for Universal Music Enterprises, Beautiful, at the time of her passing, the follow-up to 2009’s Congo Square, which peaked at #4 ...

January 15th – Danish metal band Volbeat has revealed the band is in the studio recording a new album for release in Spring, 2013. Titled Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, the sessions are being produced by Rob Caggiano, alongside Jacob Hansen, who has a long history with Volbeat having produced and mixed the band’s prior four releases. Caggiano’s producer credits include The Damned Things, Bleeding Through and Anthrax amongst others.

Me, who never lived the rock ’n roll life in the 80s, Im extremely happy to just look around nowadays and meet more and more bands, who give the feeling of that great, heroic time of rock and the life around it. This style seems that – thanks good- started to spread again, as a nostalgy nowadays, hopefully getting over one day the stupid trendy pop songs.

I met quite by chance Shock Rocket, a young band ruined in Italy. The four guys, -not more than 20 years old boys Im talking about-, not just play or try to play the rock n’ roll, they really live that life and the music at all. And its absolutely right: topics, songs, and the all enviroment around Marty, Marco, Andrew and Joey is full with the emotion what we usually love to call hard rock...
