*Which was that moment when you decide to become a musician?

‘It was a kind of big surprise, because I have never planned that. Eventhough I’ve played a little bit of sort of guitar in my class, and things like that, you know. A guy had discovered me and decided he would move me in a band that was much older than me. But all before I knew it to join the band, I left everything, I left my mom, I left school, I was move out from the house, and I wasn’t even 16years old. And it just all happened. After you just look back, when you grow up, that you was only a teenager, and you say, oh my God..’

Doro’s new album is finally here, and her fans will be extremely happy. Over the years, first with Warlock and since then as Doro, she has released a steady stream of albums with consistently hight quality and featuring a mix of rock anthems and ballads. Her last album (Fear no evil) came out in early 2009, shortly after she celebrated 25 years of rock, and now in her 29th year of making music, ”Raise your fist” is here. It’s her first album for new label Nuclear Blast.

Brief comments on a few of the tracks…

”Raise your fist in the air” is another classic Doro rock anthem and is the first single to be taken from the album – I can’t wait to hear this one played live.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the release of The Jam’s last studio album, Universal are releasing a super deluxe edition of the album packed full of extras.

It’s available in two variants – the 2 CD deluxe edition version which features the original album, the singles and B sides and a disc of demos and alternate tracks; and a Super deluxe edition which contains four discs. The first two are the same as in the deluxe edition, the third is Live at Wembley (Dec. 3rd 1982), and the fourth disc is a DVD with footage from Top of the pops, a Danish TV show, live footage and some promo videos.

To mark the 40th anniversary of their formation in Stockport in ’72, Universal Music will release a five-disc box set entitled ‘Tenology’ by era-defining pop maestros 10cc on 19th November 2012. Curated by the four original members – Lol Creme, Kevin Godley, Graham Gouldman and Eric Stewart, ‘Tenology’ features four CDs (two discs of singles, one of selected album tracks, and a further one of B-sides and rarities) and a DVD (featuring all the groundbreaking promo videos and TV performances on Top Of The Pops, BBC In Concert, See You Sunday, Six Fifty Five Special and Pebble Mill).

US label Mediaskare Records have just revealed a free label sampler featuring 10 bands on their roster. The likes of Hundredth and Betrayal feature here. Few labels manage to consistently release music that speaks to so many people, and doesn’t compromise integrity. This is Mediaskare’s way of spreading news of their acclaimed roster a little bit further.

Acclaimed Australian singer-songwriter Katie Cole has just released her new single ‘I Can’t Wait’ through Beverly Martel Music. The track will be the leadoff single from her much-anticipated album, titled Lay It All Down, which is set for release in February 2013. The album features a guest appearance by songwriting and screen legend Kris Kristofferson.

Rainbow, lead by the guitarist, Ritchie Blackmore, became synonymous with some of the most well regarded and popular charting Rock songs of the seventies and eighties.
