Tom petty and the Heartbreakers – Live in concert (DVD/BluRay)

This live release was recorded for a two-part PBS Soundstage program. The live performance was filmed in High definition from multiple angles and as you’d expect the picture quality is superb. The sound quality is equally impressive with 5.1 stereo and a crystal clear sound.
The setlist is what makes this release so special – it’s not just Tom Petty and the heartbreakers playing their usual show. Instead we get some of their songs, a song Tom Petty did with the Travelling Wilburys, and covers from artists including Big Joe Williams, J.J.Cale and more. Classic songs such as ”Little red rooster” and ”Baby please dont go” are performed superbly well.

Winter in Eden & Crimson Sky – Asylum 2, Birmingham

Tonight’s gig is a co-headlining one with both bands playing for an hour. First up was Crimson sky, a female fronted prog rock band from Bristol. I did enjoy their set but there was certainly room for improvement – the keyboards were way too high in the mix and at times drowned out the vocals. The guitar work was good and heavy. The singer moved around and used the space well and her voice seemed pretty good, but during one of the old songs that was written when the band had a different singer then she did seem to struggle, which isnt unusualy when singing somethign written for someone elses voice. Winter in Eden are a band I’v...
