ICED EARTH’s first officially recorded DVD/Blu-Ray, “Live In Ancient Kourion”, will hit the stores on April 15th in Europe. For this live release, the band recorded an epic 2.5 hour show in a 6,000 year old amphitheatre with an incredible and unique atmosphere. ORPHANED LAND, the pioneers of oriental metal music and warriors of light are in the final process of recording their long awaited new album. This release is the band’s 6th full length and marks another big step forward, it is the logical evolution from the last studio release ’The Never Ending Way Of ORwarriOR’.

The title of the new album will be ’All Is One’ and it surfaces on June 24th (USA June 25th), 2013! Singer Kobi Farhi explains the material as follows:

NYNKE comes from Friesland and sings in Frisian, a language with a rich history and a great poetic quality, which is only spoken in the northern part of the Netherlands and is considered by linguists as somewhere halfway between English and Dutch.

For a number of years, Nynke has been passionate about Mediterranean and Latin music, from fado and flamenco to various Latin American traditions and has created her own “Mediterranean-Frisian” style, inspired by these musical forms and sung in her mother tongue. She has recorded three albums – all extremely successful in the Netherlands, resulting in a gold disc, an Edison (Dutch Music Awards) and a literary prize.

The murder of a close friend of the band led Smith to think a lot about death and life after death. Shortly after, a visit to a psychic/medium brought Smith into contact with another friend who had died.

This encounter with the afterworld inspired many of the lyrics on Sonny & the Sunsets’ new record. And what a strangely entertaining odyssey it turned out to be.
