New names in the Sziget Festival line-up

The organizers of Sziget have announced a new list of names, already confirmed for the 2014 event. At the ‘Island of Freedom’ The Prodigy, Lily Allen, Ska-P and La Roux will also perform. Sziget Festival is held between 11-18 August.

Sziget is hosted on a beautiful green island in the middle of Budapest and is a perfect merge of a summer holiday and a festival experience. Besides many fun, art and activities, Sziget has already revealed some names from the 2014 line-up, as Queens of the Stone Age, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Skrillex, Placebo, Klaxons, Stromae, Calvin Harris, Imagine Dragons, Bastille and now they have announced a new bunch of names.

Eels is coming to Rock Werchter! The master and front man E announced that news early this morning. The band always surprises when performing live shows, both in terms of line-up and set-up. Things won’t be any different this summer. On Friday, July 4 E will perform with a group that plays the melodica, pump organ, mandolin, musical saws and other quiet instruments. Eels’ new album The Cautionary Tales of Mark Oliver Everett will be released on April 21.

The confirmed acts for Friday, July 4 (in alphabetical order) are:
Arctic Monkeys, Crystal Fighters, Eels, Ellie Goulding, Foster The People, George Ezra, Jack Johnson, Major Lazer, Parov Stelar Band.  Rodrigo y Gabriela, The 1975, The Naked and Famous, The Strypes, The Subs, and Trixie Whitley. More names will follow soon.

The sixth and final headliner for Metaldays 2014 is certain: Children Of Bodom! It’s time to once again get lost in the moshpit of the Finnish band and fall prey to the guitar skills and melodies of Alexi Laiho. Get trashed, lost and strung-out at the Metaldays! From rock, pop, metal, indie, dance and urban to singer-songwriters. It’s all possible at Rock Werchter. Seven names have been added to the line-up. All of them are highly danceable. Gesaffelstein will play at the festival on Thursday, July 3. The Subs will play a day later, on Friday, July 4. On Saturday, July 5 the beats of SBTRKT,Trentemøller and Moderat will resound. Rudimental and Chase and Status are confirmed on Sunday, July 6. The line-up for Rock Werchter 2014 currently includes 50 names. More names will be added to the bill soon.

Har du alltid drömt om att få namnge en festivalscen? Nu har du chansen. Sveriges största festival ska nämligen döpa om sina scener och det görs via en tävling där alla kan lämna förslag. Fram till och med 20 februari kan du lämna dina förslag på vad Bråvallafestivalens scener ska döpas om till.

Under fjolårets succépremiär för Bråvallafestivalen i Norrköping hade scenerna fått sina namn från olika färger. Nu ska festivalens största scener – Blue och Green – samt ytterligare tre scener få nya namn. Fram till och med 20 februari tas förslag emot via Bråvallafestivalens Facebooksida. Därefter kommer en jury att plocka ut de bästa förslagen. Dessa går sedan vidare till en publik omröstning, där de slutgiltiga vinnarna kommer att koras.

Six new names for Rock Werchter 2014. Miles Kane, The Wombats and London Grammar are due at Werchter on Thursday 3 July. Biffy Clyro and Midlake on Saturday 5 July. Bastille joins the bill for Sunday 6 July. As of today, there are 37 names on the Rock Werchter bill. That means we’ve booked about half the bands. More bookings to follow soon.
